Visit to the Faculty of Technology, University of Novi Sad – Serbia

Purpose of the trip

In the last week of January 2024, PhD students and staff of our institute visited our partner faculty in Novi Sad. The purpose of the visit was to agree on cooperation on a mutual scientific project concerning hygienic measurements of electromagnetic fields in a wide frequency range. To find international projects where we could jointly apply for funding and to specify requirements for dissertations conducted at the Institute. The next point of discussion was Erasmus – namely a two-month stay of our PhD students at the Technical Faculty of the University of Novi Sad.

Technical Faculty

Visited faculty – Faculty of Technology has about 14 thous. Students and is part of a university with more than 50 thous. Students. The university is not only purely technical, it also contains humanities and economics faculties. There is even a medical faculty. It acts as an amalgamation of our STU and Charles University.

Nikola Tesla

Portraits of Serbian-born Nikola Tesla are everywhere, even in artistic renditions…

Agreed areas of cooperation

During the visit we agreed on several points of future cooperation between the Institute of Electrical Engineering and the Faculty of Technology

  • Exchange visits – students, PhD students, staff of both institutions

  • Joint APVV project – a joint project was submitted to get acquainted with the issues of the partner organisations

  • Research in the field of sensors – a PhD student of the Institute will participate in research on electromagnetic field sensors for hygienic purposes

  • Building a sensor network – this network will also include sensors developed at the ÚE, for collecting environmental data related to electromagnetic smog contamination of the population

  • Joint organization of conferences – IE and TF will closely cooperate on joint conferences and papers in the field of electrical engineering, and high-frequency technology

At the time of writing, two of our colleagues are already working on electromagnetic field mapping in Novi Sad and are working closely with TF.

“In mutual cooperation, 1 + 1 >> 2.

We have found colleagues whose area of scientific and pedagogical interest is similar to ours.
